QED Environmental Systems launches pneumatic pump cycle counter
Dexter, Michigan-based QED Environmental Systems Inc., a manufacturer of environmental products and subsidiary of Graco Inc., has launched the Xact Count pneumatic pump cycle counter, which monitors pump performance and maintenance cycles while estimating the volume of liquid being pumped. The cycle counter monitors water discharge rather than airflow, ensuring pumps are operating correctly, the company says.
Designed for AP4 landfill remediation pumps, the Xact Count also is capable of monitoring flow on different applications, QED says. The Xact Count requires no external power source and consists of a valve housing, an internally located, magnetically integrated poppet and a digital display.
The Xact Count tackles common issues in operating landfill remediation pumps by directly monitoring the water discharge flow rather than pneumatic airflow by proxy, the company says. The liquid pulse detecting unit is placed inline between a pump and its discharge reservoir and a digital readout that displays the number of times a pump cycles.
According to QED, the seat, poppet and wetted components are made from stainless steel. By eliminating the need for an airline counter, the valve internals have been constructed for maximum debris to pass and minimal fluid distribution, the company says. The cycle counter acts as a discharge check valve, while also aiding in leak back prevention. The Xact Count provides accuracy in conditions where pump submergence is less than or equal to two-thirds of AP4 pump depth, QED says.
QED Environmental Systems is a manufacturer of environmental pumping systems, landfill products, landfill gas products and air strippers for use at landfills, mines, oil refineries and other industrial sites, as well as hazardous waste cleanup sites.
